Další velmi důležité kroky IFMA směrem k FISU a SPORTACCORD
Mr. Stephan Fox - generální sekretář IFMA byl zvolen Prezidentem Alliance of Independent Members of SportAccord (AIMS).
Dne 22.4.2015 vstoupilo MUAYTHAI oficiálně do FISU - International University Sports Federation.
Dear Presidents, General Secretaries, and National Federations,
It gives me great pleasure to announce that Muaythai has been given full recognition by FISU, and that we are now an official member of the FISU sporting family.
This is another monumental milestone, which brings us closer to the IOC as we are now members of two important IOC-recognised sporting organisations: The International World Games Association (IWGA) and the Fédération internationale du sport universitaire (FISU). This could not have been accomplished without the hard work of our international office, you, the member federations and executives over the last years. We must also thank the Thailand Department of Physical Education for partnering with us to host the recently successful FISU Muaythai University World Cup.
We are truly delighted by this news, and we must continue to work towards highest sporting recognition. We just had an important meeting with the IOC, and we are on the right track; recognition is coming closer and closer. We are now working on the upcoming Royal World Cup from the 13th-22nd of August, and we are delighted that after 5 years of absence, Thailand has again been given the honour to be the host country, and I can assure you that we will not disappoint.
I would also like to congratulate our own General Secretary, Stephan Fox, for being elected as the President of the Alliance of Independent Members of Sport SportAccord (AIMS), the 23 non-Olympic sports recognised by SportAccord, and also for becoming a SportAccord council member. This is a true honour for Muaythai, and with Stephan as the President, I am certain that these sports will unite together for the benefits of sport, and for the benefit of society.
Congratulations have come in from all sporting groups, SportAccord, the IOC, World Games, FISU, OCA, and we will continue to cooperate closely and I am truly proud for this achievement. I believe that all this hard work was done not just for Muaythai, but for the world of sports. Congratulations.
Colleagues, friends, now is the time to keep uniting in one direction. This is what IFMA has achieved, and the World Championship will showcase the strength of our sport. We will have AGMs and many other workshops, and unity is IFMA's strength.
